It was ok at first. I was treated well and staff was responding to my needs. At the end that all changed. Receptionist was rude, non helping and very frustrated to my questions. All I asked was for a grab to a destination. All she says I don't understand you over and over. She spoke English to other Guest. Hmm something is not wright here. Was I glad I left of course. Why would I want to deal with psycho staff. Would I come back...Ahhh NOPE....

Great stay
We had a great stay. The private room and shower was modern and spacious. The staff are young, energetic and very helpful. The area is very central for shopping, nightlife and restaurants. We recommend this hotel and will be back if we visit Vietnam again.

Want to miss your flight? Please check in to Hay!
Clean place. Good beds. Nice location. However, the staff... they seem friendly, but don’t think for a second that they care about you as a customer or their jobs. The manager is alright, but if he’d be anything close to serious he would change the entire reception staff. They give you a tourist map and point out some random stuff. They spend all day playing with their phones and as you walk in you’re gonna have to ask for their attention even though you’re right in front of them. They forgot to charge a lady for her stay and sent her away in a cab. Then they realized their mistake and called the driver and had him turn the cab around so they could collect the money from her. The poor woman didn’t understand what was going on, and she was in serious danger of missing her flight. All of this because they don’t care to pay attention to their job, at all, which is what they’re paid to do. So, don’t waste your money here. Oh, and if someone at Hay Hostel is going to reply to this in the tone of “I’m sorry you didn’t like to stay with us”, then please do tell who likes to pay to be treated like air, have to ask the staff to do their job and worry about all the bookings they do for you. Cause who knows if it’s actually booked or done? Thank you Hay for reminding me what bad service is like.

Amazing Beds, Even More Amazing Staff
The staff at Hay Hostel was absolutely amazing. Always smiling and always greeting their guests. Anything I needed, they were more than happy to help. The beds were super comfortable as well with a privacy curtain. Such a pleasant stay!

Brilliant gem of a hostel
Hay hostel is a little gem of a place. The staff are friendly and knowledgable and helped book tours and recommended some great activities , walks and eateries too. Everything was walkable, especially the night market and lake, only 5 mins away The dorm was immaculate and comfy with curtains for privacy air con and a fan in the bed space along with a personal light and PowerPoints Toiletries are provided and there’s also breakfast thrown intoo! And all for a really great date! Totally recommended
