Discover Paris

The city of lights – this can't be truer when you talk or visit one of the most famous cities in the world and the capital as well as the most populous city in France. Welcome to Paris. A city that combines everything magical and exciting, from music, fashion, commerce, finance, painting, architecture to the top of the notch food (the pastry is terrific).

Located in the northern part of France and a population of about 2.5 million, there is never a dull moment. Bestriding the Seine River which it was confined to in the earlier times, Paris offers tourist the best sights for their money.

Where to go / what to do

There are so many interesting places to visit as well as so many things to do but below are some of the ones that are sure to captivate your mind and take away your breath.

Eiffel Tower : - there is no way you can visit Paris without taking a tour to the infamous and symbolic Eiffel Tower known to all both those that have visited this amazing place and those yet to visit. Built by Gustav Eiffel and about 324 meters high, the Eiffel Tower is a glory to behold standing majestically with the head up high in the sky. It is no surprise that this tower is the most visited monument in the world attracting about 7 million tourists every year. If you are the daring type, you rest assured of a breathtaking view of the elegant city at the very top and even get to see the office used by Gustav himself.

The Cathedral of Notre Dame : - adorn with some of the most amazing sculptures and gargoyles, the Notre Dame is one of Paris most ancient symbols. Built in 1345, the Notre Dame is mostly seen as the finest examples of the French Gothic architecture and when you do visit, you can't argue otherwise. To get the best view of the cathedral, it is advised to walk around it on foot and if you have enough energy left, you should make the climb to the very top (although exhausting but definitely worth it) where you get to experience the breathtaking view of the whole region as well as have an up close personal view of the gargoyles.

Louvre Museum : - everything about Paris is always at another level and the Louvre is no exception. Been the most visited museum in the world, the Louvre was once a royal palace covering a massive area of 210,000 sq metres with about 60,000 for exhibitions – this is really huge. All the collections in the museum are divided into eight categories – Egyptian antiquities, Oriental antiquities, Greek Etruscan and Roman, Islamic Arts, Sculptures of the middle ages renaissance and modern times, Objects of Arts, Paintings and Graphic Arts. There is no way you wouldn't be smarter after visiting this citadel of history and culture.

Disneyland Paris : - if you happened to be visiting with the kids, they are definitely going to love visiting the Disneyland and get to see all their favourite Disney characters come to life. It has two theme parks – Disneyland that has the sleeping beauty castle and the Walt Disney Studios. There are several attractions such as the space mountain; it's a small world among others.
