The Prestige Hotel Penang
"Excellent hotel. The staff were friendly and always looking to help. Super convenient location. You could walk to Umbrella Alley in a reasonable amount of time. There is a bubble tea shop and a snack shop next door, down the arcade way. There is a Japanese-style street with lanterns across the street with ice cream and modern bars/Japanese restaurants that looks pretty neat when its lit up at night. There is sometimes live music at night there."

For those in search of something distinctive, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and potentially better value.
