Dutch Square (Red Square): A prominent square emcompasses notable iconic landmarks of Malacca namely the Stadthuys, Christchurch and Queen Victoria's fountain. Coated with a bold red colour, the Stadthuys, a Dutch colonial architecture museum, is hard to go unnoticed. Built in 1650, the Stadthuys was once as an official residence for Dutch authorities and administrative center for successive governments. Its exhibits showcases the Malaccan arts, musical instruments, weaponry, rich history of the great Malay Sultanate and colonial eras; the legacy of Malaccan customs feels much alive. Christchurch displays remarkable ancient handmade pews and beautiful glazed tiles of the "Last Supper". As for the fountain, this breathtaking masterpiece was built to commemorate Queen Victoria Regina.
Cheng Ho Cultural Museum : The museum fathom a fascinating story of Admiral Cheng Ho and his voyages of trade across Asia in the 13th century, which has given rise to the development of diplomatic relations between China and Melaka, forming "Straits Chinese", or Baba-Nyonya community and influence the local culture that Malacca preserves today. This award-winning museum features a comprehensive collections of fleets masterpieces, ancient artifacts from Maritime Silk Road and weaponry, will bound to leave you captivated. Located across the museum is the Menara Taming Sari, a revolving tower where you can get a spectacular view of the Malacca City and the Sumatra Island.
