After a long day of air travel delays, the hotel forgot to pick me up at the airport. When I got in contact with them they assured me they were “on their way” and “looking for me” ...so I waited. For two hours. Just as I was getting up to grab a taxi, the guy showed up.
I arrived at the hotel just after midnight. All I wanted was to take a hot shower and go to bed, but even THAT came with a delay of 5-10 mins for the hot water to get to the 7th floor. When the water finally did arrive, I discovered the pressure mechanism in the shower (aka the cartridge) was broken, so the water was either on full blast, freezing, or coming out at a trickle, scalding.
The only thing left was breakfast...and it was not good. My eggs tasted like fish sauce. I hate fish.
Staff was nice and apologetic, but ultimately the damage was done long before. They had multiple opportunities to redeem themselves, but failed at every turn. The next day I continued my trip at a highly rated (and a lot cheaper) hostel in the Old Quarter and was much, much happier.
