Teluk Bahang Beach provides a more serene alternative. Situated around 5 kilometres from Batu Feringghi, it offers an equally idyllic stretch of sand, but away from the hotels and tourists.

Nearby you’ll find the Tropical Spice Garden, home to around 500 species of flora and fauna. Three tranquil trails lead you through the 8-acre jungle oasis, past trickling streams and waterfalls, and fragrant herbs and spices. If you only make time for one attraction during your stay, make it the Batu Ferringhi Night Market. Most sit within easy walking distance of the beach, and offer all the basics, if not many extras.

How to get to Ferringgi Beach

Situated on the island around 30 kilometres from Batu Ferringgi, Penang International Airport is the state’s primary gateway. Whilst it mainly deals with flights to Asian destinations, links to major hubs like Kuala Lumpur International make connecting flights a breeze. Once you’ve landed you can get to Batu Ferringgi by taxi or bus connections, though most hotels in the area provide an airport pick-up service with prior arrangement. The state is also reachable by bus and train services, both of which terminate at Butterworth on the mainland, a short ferry hop from Penang Island.
