This place was perfect! The hotel itself is another wonderful Secrets: clean and luxurious with a 5 star level of services and pampering. The heart of the hotel is definitely dedicated and beyond friendly staff who do their absolute best to make you feel at home. They go above and beyond to provide a fun, accommodating, special experience. They all introduce themselves and eagerly want to assist you with anything and everything they can. There are certain members that need a shout out because they made my husband and I feel so spoiled the whole week we were there: Max, Gina, Carla, Carlos and Abraham were a few from the activities team, bartenders: Ivan and Moses from the swimup bar, Miguel and Samuel from poolside assistance and concierges Regina and José! These were just a few that specifically made our trip amazing. The food here is delicious, we had our favorite restaurants like the French and Asian places. My advice for those coming here from Maroma: they are like siblings, NOT twins. They have differences and Akumal is bigger with better snorkeling right next to the beach!

Secrets property was extremely clean, and constantly maintained by the staff. Everyone was professional, courteous and welcoming. We had a birthday group of 18 people, everyone had a wonderful time. Most beautiful place I’ve ever been. Most of the food was really good. The staff was so attentive and wanting to make sure all if your needs and wants were taken care of. My biggest two complaints are the daily pool parties that last for hours with a DJ. The bass carries into the rooms and there’s no escaping it. So if you want to take a nap, don’t count on it. There’s a quiet pool, but that pool still feels the thumping when the DJ is playing. My second complaint is that if you try to relax on the beach, you are constantly being approached by people trying to sell hats, blankets, turtle tours, etc. I understand they are just trying to make a living, but it definitely affects the feel of relaxation.

My spouse and I were celebrating our anniversary and this resort made sure we were always taken care of. From the moment we stepped into secrets we were taken care of. All the staff seemed extremely trained and professional! The entertainers Max, Carlos, Jorge and Abhrahm were my favorite. They made sure my stay was eventful. The night shows were amazing as well. Only thing about the trip is the limit of access to affordable transportation into the city or airport. The food could be better as well. Only favorite part of food was the Coco Cafe happy to see it was 24hrs! The spa is a must as well! pretty pricy but worth it! Amazing experience over-all!

Our experience here was incredible! I did a lot of research before deciding where to go and I’m really glad we chose this secrets resort. It was even prettier in person than expected! We had a regular jungle room and was still a full suite. We went for my birthday and the staff were very nice and decorated our room before I arrived and brought us a bottle of champagne. The grounds are really quiet, private, and lush with lots of plants it felt very jungley. I will say the paths could be labelled better as it is almost like a maze. The pools were great and the beach was pretty, plus they have free snorkeling where you can see sea turtles! Food was pretty good, some restaurants are better than others but overall we were satisfied. If you’re going with a partner I highly recommend the couples massage! The spa at this resort is stunning and you can really spend a lot of time here between your service and the relaxation pool. This was a great vacation and we’re hoping to go back soon!
