Worst Hotel/Resort Ever: Do Not Use!
We saw the pictures on Expedia, and this hotel looked alright. Not luxurious, but adequate. When we arrived we were horrified. The hotel is totally run down - looks like it hasn't been attended to in about 25 years. The rooms were in poor condition (see photos), and every window was covered in tape to protect against hurricanes - except that the tape had the appearance of having been there for several years. The beds were only covered by sheets... and they were dirty! There were other issues with the hotel room, but they were nothing compared to the hotel grounds and the beach.
The hotel grounds were poorly taken care of. Pools were empty of water, electric cords were loose and visible at child level, and there was - I kid you not - a garbage pit on the hotel grounds, complete with garbage and a stray dog! (Again, see photos.)
The beach, if you can imagine it, was worse. It was covered in broken glass and garbage. There were random pieces of concrete. It reminded me most of the scene from Planet of the Apes where half of the Statue of Liberty was visible in the sand. I have attached photos as evidence.
We had booked two nights. I couldn't convince my wife to stay for one night. We had driven 6 hours to get there - we got back in the car and drove right back to Mexico City. I asked for a refund; the hotel declined. I'll cancel the charge on my credit card. I strongly recommend staying as far away as possible from this hotel.
