About this apartment
GORGEOUS BEACH FRONT PENTHOUSE
The government of Barbados has recently launched a scheme giving international visitors the opportunity to work remotely on the island for up to a year. Please enquire with the owner for long-stay prices. We have fast fibre optic WiFi.
This Gorgeous beach front apartment has large terrace overlooking the ocean and sandy beach which makes for a romantic location. Being an end unit wonderful views span from the ocean round to the south. Built on two floors lower level has entrance hall, large bedroom, bathroom and utility room. Wooden stairs lead to Master bedroom with en suite shower room. .Extra shower room on landing. Huge living area is 40' by 16' with high pickled pine cathedral ceilings. Italian kitchen has Neff dishwasher, microwave Neff oven + separate hob. Gated secure parking. AC in bedrooms.
( due to Covid 19 we have flexible cancellation policies) ( you can of course reschedule your stay if necessary) (we are also implementing very high standards of cleaning)
The sound of the ocean echoes through the apartment as the crystal clear Caribbean sea laps just feet away! Walk to shops, banks restaurants or Port St Charles beach as well as the beach outside where turtles lay their eggs during June/July. Great snorkeling opportunities on your doorstep Here's a place that evokes the sensual elements of island life, rich turquoise water edged with hot white sands + sunsets and stars by night. Electric gates give extra security with gated private car park.
Activities available: here you can water ski, jet ski, scuba dive, paddle board, swim with protected turtles, sail, enjoy polo, view horse racing at the garrison savannah race course, horse ride and of course cricket is an obsession in Barbados so take your pick
Watch satellite TV or surf the net on our wifi! TV channels include ESPN Sports Max BBC CNN and Canadian news channels. The Caribbean sea forms your 'front garden'! Also on You Tube under Jude Gardner there are videos . We have satellite tv with a multitude of international channels and choice of new movies. We have a blue tooth sound bar speaker for guests use.
Paddle Boarding is available in Speightstown.. just hire your board and go. If you want to hire a boat and explore the area by sea this can be arranged. Scuba Diving is available too.
Maid service available plus laundry service Our housekeeper uses all the disinfection methods possible to keep the apartment very hygienic . ( we ask guests to leave the apartment when maid is cleaning to minimise virus transfer and to wash hands immediately upon arrival disposing of masks gloves etc into a sealed bag ) check out the rules for Barbados regarding masks etc before flying. We also leave the apartment empty for 3 days between guests leaving and arriving.
Note we are located at the south end of the building well away from building to North giving an uninterrupted view of the ocean. House Manager available for any support required.

The apartment looks just as it does in the pictures and Jude is a fantastic host. She will help make sure you get acclimated to the area and answer any questions during your stay very quickly. The apartment is clean, has all the ammenities you'll need, and you can't beat the view from the balcony. The town of Speightstown is great and there is plenty to do - relax on the beach, rent a car and tour the north/east coast, book a catamaran cruise, etc. As mentioned, Jude is a great host and can help make sure your stay a fun one

Verify Rates Before Confirming
We 4 booked Coco de Mer back in August for a Christmas holiday with an instant confirmation that our dates were available. We had also accepted the per night rate, service fee, extra person fee, and refundable damage deposit on VRBO’s site, and paid the requested deposit, when the balance was due prior to arrival paid that in full. En route I checked my e-mails to find we were being asked for another third of the total price above our contract pricing for a “forgotten” extra person fee. I waited to discuss with the owner in person. The owner showed us the unit’s amenities and usage instructions, and when she handed us the keys we brought up the added fees. She claimed we were getting a deal because it was Christmas and the rates were much higher than we were paying, but the rates she quoted WERE exactly what we paid. We held firm that we had a contract, and we didn’t owe her anything additional. The next day she contacted us and asked if we’d pay a third of what she’d requested the day before as we HADN’T paid the “holiday rates” she’d quoted the night before. I said no, sending a breakdown of exactly what we’d paid. She claimed she couldn’t see what we paid, had received no money from VRBO yet, that there was a new system in place, etc. So we ended up paying exactly what our contract stipulated, but this was a very stressful and angering beginning to our Christmas holiday. That being said, Coco de Mer is lovely, across the street from the beach. There are windows side/front for cross breeze. It listed 4 bathrooms, but there were only 3. There is a washer but no dryer, but plenty of hanging racks. The patio is great in the morning and for sunset, but hot mid afternoon. The kitchen has a full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, oven and stovetop. There is no barbeque grill, the “grill” is basically the broiler unit of the oven. It’s well appointed with dishes and glassware. There are cooking pots, pans and utensils. Plenty of beach/bath towels were on hand, grocery bags and a cooler bag. Speightstown is active, the property is 5 mins. walk north of the center and mostly quiet, but in a neighborhood with a kennel of dogs behind. We heard them during the night and early in the morning. Use earplugs and A/C at night in the bedrooms. No shoes are allowed upstairs on the main floor. We had an enjoyable time in beautiful Barbados, but I suggest you confirm rates with this owner prior to booking to make sure there are no surprises.

A very nice condo with a great location!
We enjoyed our stay at this condo. The location was good and we were within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. There is a small beach right across the road from the condo but just a short walk north and you are graced with the beautiful Heywoods Beach. We also spent time at Mullins Beach because there are lounge chairs to rent. The only thing that I would suggest for this condo would be to invest in some better beach chairs and maybe stock the kitchen with some essentials (pepper, saran wrap, etc.) Some other condos that we have been to also will leave some non perishable things from previous users that didn't get used.

Incredible!!
Our family of four had a wonderful time staying at this villa. Jude was very timely with questions and concerns and Sarah here property manager that welcomed us with open arms was great. The location is perfect if you want to be a part of the "real" Barbados. It was very nice taking morning walks through town and getting fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers, at great prices. The locals are very warm and friendly. We did have a concern about the villa not having AC in the common areas (AC works great in the bedrooms) with the time of year we were staying (June/July), but can say that with the ability to open up the doors in the kitchen, living room, and patio there was a constant nice breeze. You will not be disappointed if you're lucky enough to book this villa.

Fabulous Apartment
Perfect location with fantastic views and a beautiful beach just steps away. The apartment is well decorated and well equiped and has lovely furnishings. A very comfortable place to stay. Superb!!
The apartment met with everything expected from the write up! Location was perfect with fantastic views of sea and beach from the terrace. Saw two green flashes! Perfect location for restaurants, bars and shops. Jude’s taste in furnishings etc second to none, we found everything so comfortable and well thought out, most of all the paintings.
