I was very happy with my room and I was very happy with the price. The room was clean, modern and had high ceilings. However, there were a couple of things that I would have liked to have been warned about. The first is that the lobby is under construction. I suspect this is part of why the room was such a good deal. The short walk from the elevator to the front door was basically through a construction zone. This was a compromise I was more than willing to make for the price, but I wish I had been warned.
The second problem was the parking. There is no parking at the hotel, but they offer paid parking a block away, so factor this into your travel budget. Be warned though, the ceiling in the garage is very low and you won’t fit if you have a taller vehicle or, in my case, a roof rack. I suspect a lack of on-site parking is pretty standard in Quebec, but if you’re coming from further away you might be caught off-guard. If you’ve traveled in Europe you’d be pretty used to this, unfortunately, while Europe gets away with it because of a useable train network, Canada is not much better than the US.
Otherwise, all the on-site staff were very pleasant, the room was very nice, and it seems like the hotel will be a cool spot (once the construction is done). It’s a little ways away from old Quebec (if that’s what you’re into), but there is a convenient free elevator really close which will get you up the hill and the hotel has easy access to public transit.
