Funny how I stayed near the Mets home to got to the Yankees World Series. Turned out to be insanely convenient. 2 blocks to the Number 7 Subway, straight down Roosevelt Avenue, next to the Dunkin. On the edge of Flushing Main Street/Chinatown. It’s Canal Street without Canal Street. Fun location with tons of outstanding hole in the wall food options. Great small markets with fresh fruit & veggies. Picked-up a bunch of Longan, Lychee & Mangosteen for the room and Game 4. Super easy ride on the 7 to Grand Central or Times Square. Reasonable cab ride/charge from Hell’s Kitchen back 1 night. 5 minutes to LaGuardia. Small, fairly basic rooms. The bed & pillows were acceptable. Same for the tv, bathroom & room itself. Comfortable yet a bit dated. Fridge, iron, hair dryer, gym. A little surprised no microwave. Big hot water dispenser in lobby for tea, etc. Also, fruit infused ice water there, too. the lobby/check-in staffed 24 hours a day. Coming back with my wife in a couple of months. Well nicer than what I would have had in the City for the same money. Kind of stealthy.
