    Never again!

Check in was great and first impressions of downstairs and staff was great, very friendly and clean. Then... we arrived at the room. It was like two seperate worlds. The room needed major renovation, nails sticking out of shower base, chipped paint, light switches were visibly grubby, bed with non existent mattress, group of lads playing loud music and wires hanging everywhere, oh and the black mould in the upstairs corridor. Honestly felt uncomfortable staying there, we slept on top of the bed as we didn't even want to know what was underneath! Not worth 70pound for the night!

Just don’t do it, pay the extra and do elsewhere

The place was filthy and had no Covid measures in place. Was first placed in a room with mould everywhere and hairs (various types) in the bed and bathroom and cobwebs and flaking paint and generally dirty surroundings. Went to complain and was moved to a room which was only improved by the lack of mould and cobwebs. Also in this room I noticed there wasn’t any detail on the fire procedures and meeting points. The venue had a party going on and I knew there was going to be noise as I was at the front of the hotel and near reception but the result was loud music, drunk people, smokers and someone being sick out of my window all night until 2am. Reception isn’t 24hours so had no way to contact them either. I had driven from London for a family birthday and needed a place to stay and thought it was a bargain but to be fair I would rather sleep in a bush or my car then this place regardless.

Great value for money, lovely staff and good food

Having seen some feedback after I was a little wary but I was very pleasantly surprised. Very friendly staff, good food, clean bedroom, hot shower with good pressure, comfortable bed, Tea and Coffee in room and decent wi-fi. Yes the public areas are a little tired but clean. There is a good sized garden, pity it wasn't summer time as it looks a nice place to spend a summer evening. Excellent value for money and I definitely would visit again if in the area.

We were up in Manchester to see a sick relative so it wasn’t a pleasure trip but for the price we paid expected a clean hotel. Our room was dirty and shabby. Carpets hadn’t been hoovered since l don’t know when, damp on the ceiling inside the wardrobe, window frames absolutely disgusting. The only plus was the breakfast which was really nice and the staff were friendly but hotel needs a complete refurb and would not recommend to anybody.

One star at best, dirty tired rooms. Staff unfrien

Free on site parking surrounding the water fountain which smelt awful and had green water! The reception area was nice clean and had recently been decorated, staff were quite abrupt, rude and not very welcoming. The room was in serious need of a makeover, old damaged furniture. Stains on wall and celling needed a good paint. It also smelt damp and fusty. Tv was newest thing in the room however was missing the main channels, and the remote was disgusting and needed cleaning. No iron in room, hairdryer didn’t work. Kettle and tea bags no coffee provided only two tea bags and two sugars for whole weekend provided for two people. Shower cubicle was dangerous I open doors to get In and shower cubicle door fell in me. Phone reception and git a guy who spoke little English he took me to room next door which he would have let us change into to find the shower in that room was worse. We were told maintenance would come In the morning but they never did. We were offered a free drink at the bar due to problems with room however this was not communicated to other members of staff so didn’t happen. Breakfast wasn’t as advertised, you could not help yourself to fruit juices and cereals as stated. Menu was limited, staff made multiple mistakes with us and other guests during service. Staff could be here arguing in the kitchen whilst breakfast was been served. Food was put on table in front of guests and removed and given to other guests. Breakfast was burned or undercooked.

  • 8.0.Very good

    In need of urgent refurbishment

Booked as recommended. Firstly do not believe the pictures on the website. It looks like a totally different hotel! Overall the hotel is very dated. Rooms are small but clean. Showers are next to useless. No water pressure in either of tje rooms i was put in. Breakfast was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. For one night its just about okay but i booked snd stayed for 4 and wish i hadn't due to the useless showers. Rooms are very dated and need refreshing. All in all stay for one night and its worth it. Not for longer stays until updated and showers fixed.

    Would not stay again

Disappointed with the room. No aircon as advertised. Very stuffy as had to keep windows closed due motorway noise. Very thin walls. Heard the couple in the room next door having sex all night. Not good. 4 hrs sleep and I'm on an assessment course for motorcycle riding. No restaurant at weekends. I booked here because it said onsite restaurant. So Sunday evening I had no food by the time I'd checked everywhere local had stopped serving. And.. Breakfast on a Monday not served till 8am..wth.. My course started at 8.30 in the city. So I had no breakfast either. The food when available is good. No cleaner for the first 2 days. So my room ran out of toilet roll and coffee. Overall dissatisfied. Would not stay again.
