Lovely hotel with a great breakfast. Room was clean and a good size. Good nights sleep in a peaceful room. Staff on reception were friendly and helpful. Great hotel to stay in if you’re visiting York, which is approximately a 10 minute drive just down the road, where there is a Park and Ride service to take you into the centre.

Staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was ok and nice way to start the day, the bar was good with draft beer and the Sofia pizza I had was very good. I would say a car is needed if you plan to stay here and visit York or other places, or if you are happy to get taxis. The park and ride was only 10 minutes away to get into York. I was very happy with the hotel and will book again.

This was a last minute find for us as the hotels we usually use in Thirsk were busy. What a great decision it was too. Gorgeous setting for the hotel with a lovely welcome and a very clean and comfortable room. Food was excellent with a full breakfast range and we had dinner here one night too which was equally impressive. On the Saturday there was a wedding all day but frankly they had plenty of staff on so you never felt excluded. Yes this meant a short wait at the bar and Sunday morning there was a delay on some breakfast items but they were serving 180 people so totally understandable and didn't spoil the visit. Above all else the reception and dining staff were exceptional. Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit the area especially being a few miles from York.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, the meals we had were lovely. It was busy on the Saturday evening and just one bar man on meant he was rushing between the bar and restaurant, he could have done with extra staff to help him. The toilet was difficult to flush and the extractor fan didn't work. We still enjoyed our stay.

Lovely hotel with clean and comfortable rooms. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Although the hotel is located outside the city, it’s only about an 18-minute drive to the city centre, so it’s still very convenient. Highly recommended!
