May need a car depending on your activities. Uber ~NZD58 to the airport and took about 30-40 minutes. There are trains and buses as well. The Viaduct is a great place to hang out for food and beverages in the evening. The central part is clean + safe.

The waterfront area is great. The war museum & maritime museums were wonderful. Don't be fooled by the war museum name: 1 floor was Maori culture, 1 floor was a superb geologic history & vulcanism presentation, & 1 floor was the actual war museum.

Auckland is an ethnically diverse city with fantastic dining options, all within a walking distance from our hotel. The Sky City Tower was two blocks from our hotel. The Kiwis are amazingly kind and generous people, reaching out to us everywhere.

As tourists, felt very safe in Wynyard Quarter and Commercial Bay areas. A lot of dining, mix of casual and high end. Auckland is a very clean, eco friendly city. Diverse and healthy food options, many places accommodate dietary restrictions.

Wonderful city! Generally very clean and well kept, warm & friendly people, multicultural, vibrant, great food and drink (though can be a little pricey), and lots of trees and green space. Absolutely loved it and can't wait to return.

We used the Hop on Hop Off which you could grab around the corner from the bus drop off. Very helpful for seeing the city. The second day, we went to Waiheke Island, which was a 10 minute walk from the bus drop off to the ferry.

The Maritime Museum is worth a visit, particularly on a rainy day. The ticket allows you access over two days - a good idea - as there is a lot of information to take in. It gets a bit crowded and noisy when school kids visit.

Travelling by bus was easy. Kiwi people are incredibly helpful and kind. I was using crutches and people offered to help with bags, seats, helped with directions and one kind bus traveller gave me chocolates.

We stayed on the North Shore for the majority of our stay in Auckland, where it is less busy and noisy. The best part of Downtown was going up in the Skytower for a meal in the revolving restaurant.
"Excellent property very comfortable beds, very quiet, no road noise, only 300 m to spark Arena, great for staying over after a concert.
I would highly recommend staff with fantastic in the hotel was very clean."
"Hotel was modern, clean, and beds were comfortable. Shower warmed up quickly. The only fault I could find in the room was there were no plugs near the beds. So no charging phones or other electronics bedside."
