I get that NYC hotels are smaller, but this particular La Quinta also had chipped paint on the walls, a broken outlet in our room, poor noise isolation from the street (probably because of the window AC unit), tape wrapped around the plumbing in the bathroom, an uncomfortable bed, and cheap bar soap in the bathroom. For an upper west side hotel, I expected better.
The room served its core purpose well enough I guess - providing me a place to sleep (albeit, poorly), but it was uncomfortable and generally seemed to be in disarray. Next time I need an UWS hotel, I may need to splurge and look elsewhere.
