Poor 2.0
horrible experience I had. Check-in process was fine except I wasn't given any instruction on how to use wifi or amenities, which was understandable since I also live in New York and know "NewYorkers" are not friendly at all. After I got into the room, I found out I got charged for $170 (I booked a room through hotels.com and was notified that total is $140) so I called front desk and a female receptionist told me it was an incidental deposit (which was totally understandable) but I complained that it would have been better if she notified me when I checked in since I had no idea what that surcharge was for. She then goes, it is a policy by Marriott that she doesn't need to explain to customers about the incidental deposit at check in (which I never heard before). I was getting frustrated and felt very disrespectful. I complained for a better customer service especially on surcharges next time, then she hangs up the phone while I was talking.. I called front desk back, she never picked up the phone for couple minutes. I went down stairs, found out it was Cherlene (I had no idea who she was since she never introduced her self when she picked up the phone), and she was with other lady in front desk. They both looked angry and Cherlene wouldn't even look at me. She said she felt disrespectful when I called her "girl" on the phone (which I had to, since I had no idea what her name was and I was getting very frustrated on how she was confronting with me regarding the charge that I

Uptown counts as city view, right?
Room desc stated city view but midtown was blocked by a building on the 7th floor; not huge for me but if you're expecting to see midtown splurge on high floor. I requested highest floor and was given 7. Bed was comfy, HVAC is responsive, and bathroom was good. Wardrobe mirror is awkward and frankly not usable. TV is nice; HBO/Showtime free for duration and you can log into your Netflix. EMR7NW trains in close proximity.

Great place to stay, very close to Queens Plaza Station where you can go anywhere from there.

Poor 2.0
Horrible.
The first room reeked of marijuana and cigarettes. The second room also reeks of cigarettes. The “city view” that we were supposed to have is pretty much nonexistent because they put us on the 5th floor. The person who checked us in didn’t give us working keys to the new room. This place was a huge disappointment.

Bad shower
Fairly new hotel close to the subway with quick access to midtown- A great alternative to staying in Manhattan. Room is good-fairly standard Courtyard modern design. Good size for NYC... However, the shower is below standard. First, there is no stationary shower head-only a wand that is attached to an adjustable bar. The wand is fine as auxiliary but not as main shower head. Second, the shower is in the bathtub and instead of a shower curtain or a full glass door setup, there is half a door which swings both ways. Mine didn't square right, so there was water all over the floor when i got out....a mess which i had to clean up.

Slight hiccup on the first room. The thermostat wasn’t working. Room was switched. Other than that stay was great. Close to everything.
