The heating needs to stay on longer in the morning. The late check out needs to be specified and charges paid before you stay. Otherwise a great place to stay

Nice Inn above the pub
Nice inn above a decent pub. Pub closes early so no problem with noise. Easily walkable from town and train station

It was a typical English B&B. The town is historically interesting, and you can enjoy it!

Nice local pub serving local ales, couldn’t fault the room just would have been good to have the option of a warm breakfast even a bacon roll etc

Nice quiet room. Basic, but clean and good value for money. Staff really friendly and helpful. We were late for our wedding but they got a taxi immediately for us.

No frills but great value
Rooms are above a busy, pub but once the pub closes it’s a very quiet location. Comfortable clean room. Friendly staff. Just a short stroll to the centre of town.

One night stay while hiking the South Downs Way. Hotel is well located to the centre of town. Nice ales and a fine dinner. Adequate continental breakfast included. Very pleasant staff.

Nice pub
Really nice stay. It was a bit cold but the weather was cold for the time of year. A wardrobe would be better than the hanger rail.

Not the Best
Our stay didn't start well when we entered a cold room on a very cold day. The radiator didn't seem to work so we told someone who said that he would turn the heating on. This caused the bathroom radiator to come on but not the one in the bedroom. We asked for help again so the same person came up to the room but couldn't get the radiator to turn on. He said that he would find us an electric heater which he eventually did. There were other things not right, such as no hooks in the bathroom so nowhere to hang towels, a broken handle on the chest of drawers, no toilet brush and only one bedside lamp. The breakfast was very poor and consisted mainly of yoghurts, cereal, a bit of fruit and toast. Occasionally a pre packed croissant or muffin would appear. Nobody ever appeared to restock the food and coffee unless you went out to find them. It was called a continental breakfast but I have never had one so meagre when abroad. There could have been cheese or ham or boiled eggs at least - something to fill you up. On the plus side the bed was comfortable and the shower decent.

Good place to stay.
Our room was spacious and very clean, nice bathroom, towels and complimentary toiletries. Great coffee machine in the room. Free continental, buffet breakfast was a nice extra. In an excellent position, close to lots of other bars and restaurants. Good value for money and friendly staff.

Excellent stay
Lovely hotel in the heart of town, we have stayed here twice and will be back. Very warm and welcoming staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and satisfying continental breakfast to start the day

Convenient & reasonable Lewes hotel
Very convenient place to stay should you need to stay over for a visit to Glyndebourne, which is only about 3 miles by road around the hill. I noticed at least 2 other couples did the same. Didn't get to try the food as the chef was away the evening we arrived, but the Harvey's beer was excellent. Only slight niggle was some missing/malfunctioning lightbulbs on the main bedroom light, otherwise the room & ensuite were fine.

Good place!
Good location, clean and tidy and had water bottles, tea and coffee. Was comfortable and warm. Only bad thing is the walls are quite thin so we could hear other guests talking.

Reception staff member was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit dated. The shower had some mold. Within walking distance to many shops and dining options. Fairly priced.

Refurbished since our previous stay, so fresh and clean. Enjoyable breakfast and the coffee machine in the room was a lovely extra.
