Highly recommend this stay

We had a great stay at Cielo Maya. Located right on the beach with a pier and some hammocks. Also has a pool and some swinging chairs. Breakfast was included and great considering all the options. Rooms are a little dated without any USB ports but otherwise clean and very comfortable for the price. We were also able to rent a car directly from the hotel which was a great benefit and helped us a lot with day trips to other Mayan ruins and a beautiful lagoon. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great stay on a reasonable budget.

Property is beautiful and right on private beach, it is some distance away from all the caos, you will need a taxi/ car if you want to explore, the hotel is on a rocky street but still safe. Fantastic strip if you want to be close to Tulum but far enough away to be quiet! Staff is absolute ace! Candy at the desk is awesome as is Juan our waiter. I cant wait to return! Rental car will go a long way to help avoid taxis. The cenote within walking distance was great. There are like 5 restaurants all within walking distance and each were nice if you dont rent a car

Pro: Beautiful beach, quiet, secluded from busy downtown, staff was very accommodating, nice pool, offers activities, close to other hotels for food, not too far from attractions Con: poor water pressure, repairs needed, If you want to swim in the water, bring water shoes! The rocks underneath will hurt your feet. Also, take a taxi or rent a car from the airport. The shuttle is expensive. Overall, I would book this location again
