Covid-19 affects the hotel services
It might be the Covid-19 reason, no breakfast could be served and hot spring is only available from 10~22:30. I hope it will get back to the normal soon.

The best thing about the hotel is that it has a real Japanese style hot spring, meaning that men and women are separate and clothing is prohibited. The breakfast buffet was also good. Other than that, the facility is a bit run down. I highly recommend this hotel if you are interested in hot springs.

Clean yet affordable accommodation
Pleasantly good stay. Rooms were clean, staff were nice. Room does look little dated but overall not a bad place. Location wise, it's far from everywhere.

A night stay at Beitou Hot Spring Area
It is located in walking distance to most place of interest there. Beitou museum is quite a challenge to walk up there as it is uphill, about 20 min walk. Coming down is ok. From outside, the hotel look old but the room are good. The breakfast are consider good for us. The in-house onsen are good. Can also simple food around the area at night near the Xinbeitou MRT station. We did not find any public hot spring, maybe we did not look hard enough. The thermal valley was actually a very small area.

Go after renovation
The room given to me was not the type I purchased. There was something wrong between hotel.com and the hotel! The hotel is old , very outdated . Sound proof is very poor. Chair seat in room are wrapped with plastic cover. The only thing good was the breakfast which was tasty and had a lot choices.

The hotel is too old without enough lighting. The lobby is dark and does not have enough comfortable chairs for the guests.

Not recommended
The hotel is far from the mrt. Have to walk around 20mins. The room is not very clean as the toilet is quite dirty for the bathing equipment, and the hot spring on the basement do not have any lockers to put your stuffs.

Quality of room Air circulation is not very good, it's suppose a smoking free environment, actually is not.
The facilities are kind of aged but comfy enough, for short stay in Taipei should be fine.

This is a place away from the noisy city centre, if one do not mind the extra half hour travel by mrt (incl walking to hotel). Very interesting place with lots of chances to soak in the hot thermal pool

The location of the hotel is about
The location of the hotel is about 10 min walk from xinbeitou mrt station. Given that it's winter, I think it's ok as it's a nice walk but not if it's raining. The only facilities which I thought was nice is the free spa. The room is ok but patrons should check the window to make sure they're completely closed otherwise it'd be freezing in the cold winter. I suppose this hotel is fairly old so don't expect nice comfortable hotel beds. As a matter of fact, the bed that I slept on was one of the hardest bed I've slept on. I'd give it a minus 3 star hotel given that their Internet access is only atmthe lobby.

The hotel is situated in a pleasant
The hotel is situated in a pleasant location away from main roads yet within easy reach of Taipei's excellent MRT system, local convenience stores and places of interest. Spa bathing facilities are available in the basement at reasonable cost. My only problem was the pillows supplied- far too hard and bulky for my taste. Staff were friendly and helpful for the most part. I would stay there again but might bring my own pillow.
