We stayed at the Roaders Hotel for just over a week in early August. We had two rooms: a Deluxe Double (DD) and a Standard Double (SD). The DD was located at the corner of the building and had a decent view. It also had a working air conditioner, which is a must in Taipei during August. The size of the DD was decent compared to other hotels we’ve stayed in Taipei and Asia. There was a desk, chair, and enough room to put our luggage on a rack or the floor without it being in the way. Personally, the beds were too firm, almost like sleeping on the floor. Maybe appreciated by others. The SD was a bit tighter in space, but it was still okay. One just has to be okay without having a window, which can be a challenge, but I think it’s worth the savings. We weren’t in the rooms that much anyway. Ironically, the fun lounge with the games, noodles, snacks, and drinks that we spent a good amount of time in is in the basement and also doesn’t have windows. The staff was nice and always greeted us when we saw them. The location is a standout, being close to everything, particularly the MRT. I wouldn’t hesitate to consider staying at the Roaders Hotel again the next time we’re in the Ximending district.

Good location - 5 minutes walk to the Ximen MRT station, which is one stop away from the Taipei Main Station. Reception area on 2nd floor has a lounge area with games, and free water and snacks – a hostel-like vibe. Helpful 24-hour English-speaking staff at reception desk. Rooms are very small but functional. Walls are thin, and we had noisy neighbors, which was a problem.

Stayed here for a week and overall it was a great hotel in a prime location next to everything including every major rail line. Wifi was fast and the free snacks and breakfast sandwiches were great. Only downside is that you absolutely needed ear plugs to sleep which were not provided. Casual conversations were regularly heard in the hallways and in neighboring rooms.

Overall the hotel was a great stay for its price. There were free snacks and drinks available 24/7 in the lounge. Staffs were also really nice and welcoming - will always provide our room with extra water knowing that we head out everyday. Laundry didn’t meet our expectation though. They only had one dual wash/dry laundry machine which we had to reserve in advance and the drying part could take up to hours to dry everything.

The reception was nice and attentive even with language barrier, we communicated well with google translate. Laundromat was free and booked swiftly at the reception for the next day and you had at least 5h to finish doing your laundry. Room was small but bathroom was bigger which compensated the cramped room. New towels and toilet paper everyday before 5pm. Location was great and very close to Ximending and Fmailymart + 7/11.

Love love love this hotel. Second year in a row staying here. I’ve stayed at a few hotels around the island, but still think Roaders may be the best. As a solo traveler, the room was perfect for me. Good bed, accessible plugs, and maybe the best shower on the island. Overall, great value, great location, and great amenities. But the most of all, an excellent staff. Will definitely be staying here again in the future.
