Hotel that needs done major renovation.
Room was extremely tiny and dated. It needs some renovation. The lobby looked grand and modern, which is a very big contrast to the room. The floor of the washroom was slanted dnd warble. When you walked inside, you have sea sick sensation. The sink was very low and you had to bend down to use. We went with another two parties and they had the same opinion.

Anniversary Trip to Kyoto
We wanted to stay near Kyoto station for easy travel and the Doubletree by Hilton did not disappoint. It’s less than 5 minutes walk from the train station. The sleekness of the hotel is very modern. Our room was clean, the bed was super comfortable- soft to medium firmness, and we liked the separation of the toilet, shower/bath-tub, and vanity. There was construction next to the hotel, but it wasn’t noisy. The breakfast was my favorite; it was buffet style and they offered a variety of choices from Asian to Western dishes.
Our only con is that this location does not have smart tv and we did not bring our laptop to connect HDMI.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

It’s a short walk from Kyoto station. There are 7-11 stores around. A bigger store is behind it. It doesn’t have drop
Off point. Just around corner of the road to quickly alight. Maybe it has but I hv not notice. No signage. Has a laundry room. Quite convenient and affordable to wash and dry at yen600 for 2 hours (3kg) and other options. Receptionists are friendly but not most reliable in communication. No free wifi unless you are a Hilton honor member ! No drinking water bottles but they have a filter bottle to guide you making drinking water in your room. I stayed 4 nights and then 3 nights continuously but they cannot upgrade or remain same room despite being member … probably they were full house. They can forward luggage which is good n they were helpful to trace missing luggage. So all good.

Relatively new hotel in a great location only a few minutes walk from the Kyoto train station. Very nice modern spacious rooms. The restaurant menu is somewhat limited but the breakfast buffet was quite good.
