Highly recommend this serene hotel
The Kawaramachi location of this serene hotel is ideal. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it. There is an Italian restaurant downstairs for breakfast buffet daily (extra cost) that consists of traditional Japanese food too. It’s one block down the alley to Ponchoko for lively nightlife and beautiful walk along the River, across the street Loft to purchase an extra suitcase, the relaxation salon offers the best massages to relieve all the travel stress just 2min away at next block on same side of street. The front desk staff are all very efficient with requests. Although they no longer clean daily, they always provided fresh towels. Only request would be to provide close caption English subtitles on their Japanese television stations which would be so enjoyable or at least YouTube available, BBC was only channel available in English
