Disappointed with the on-line booking experience
I booked on-line through Hotels.com, and if this review sounds poor, most of the problems were due to not being able to contact Hotels.com after the booking was made. The Hotels.com chat system didn't work at all - the only thing it allowed me to do was request an additional copy of the itinerary. That's all. I won't use Hotels.com again. Otherwise the staff were hit and miss, the phone number given to us by Hotels.com was either incorrect or unattended. There was blood stained on the bed linen which was attributed by the hotel to their laundry contractor. In the end the reception staff were there, and helpful, and the room was large (we booked a deluxe suite) and quiet (on the third floor). There is no lift but there was a comfortable reception area with free tea, and they kindly stored our luggage for 4 hours after checkout. The guys at reception were awesome but communication with the hotel prior to check-in was almost impossible and when I did get through to someone they quickly became impatient with my English and hung up on me in an aggressive manner. I would gladly stay here again, but the booking experience was awful. Never again, Hotels.com. Of course I will be surprised if you allow this review to be seen.
