Tamarind Reef Resort is definitely a great place to stay. They are minutes from downtown Christiansted. The hotel itself is located on a rocky shore. You couldn't really swim in the water there, but there were plenty of other beaches to go snorkeling and swimming in. The rook was quite spacious, up to date and very clean. They have 2 restaurants. We only ate at one of them and the food was very good. It was very quiet and relaxing. They have a nice big pool facing the water. We had a great stay! Can't wait to go back!

Our stay was great! Comfortable bed, nice amenities with a wonderful ocean view right off our balcony made a perfect place for morning coffee. The Deep End restaurant was nice to have and was very pleased they made a point to get us in without a reservation because of being a hotel guest. The roosters crowing in the morning were a bother for my wife but it didn’t bother me any I went right back to sleep. It was also nice to have access to the gym and beach rentals free of charge as a guest of the hotel. The staff was excellent and I appreciated their hospitality

Stay was very nice. The private beach and amenities were a big plus, and it felt like we have it to ourselves even though the hotels was booked to capacity. On site restaurant had great food, and the ability to grab drinks for the room was nice as well. Would definitely recommend renting a car, as there is nothing within walking distance. Only downside were Roosters at 430am that do not let you sleep in if your room is near the restaurant.

Room was very spacious but maybe it seemed that way because it was very sparse. The sliding door to the closet was so difficult to move we didn’t use it. The second floor balcony room we were in was advertised as ocean view but with tops of palm trees 15 feet away blocking everything. We loved leaving the door open to hear the waves crashing but for security while sleeping or away we closed it because the entire second floor balcony is shared with all of the other rooms. Only canvas screens separate. The staff is friendly, and the the room very clean but the entire property is tired and overdue to be updated as are most places on the island. The overall vibe is very tacky 80s Miami Vice. This is an American territory and it shows this best in the food. So if you’re looking fir a real tropical experience with unique local food options go to another island... wings, burgers, nachos, steaks and that most ubiquitous tropical fish “salmon” permeate just about every menu. Of course they do make fish tacos and fried grouper fingers (even dive bars in Indiana make fish tacos). My brother lives here so I came to visit. All in all if you want the peace of mind of going to an American destination or can’t travel out of the country due to passport issues then this isn’t a bad option, you could do worse.

The location of this hotel is nearly perfect - a short drive to Christiansted and right on the beach. Our balcony overlooked the ocean and we slept with the doors open every night to hear the surf. The beach and reef are on the smaller side, but hotel guests have access to cabanas, lounge chairs, snorkeling equipment, and kayaks for free. The food is perfectly adequate and the entertainment at the bar on Friday nights is amazing.

Beautiful. A reef right off the property. As a traveler I have never met a better staff. The property is a little dated but still perfect.

After our first three days, they put a very noisy family directly above us with little kids. The hotel staff moved us to a new room but there was noise there too from above. The staff was professional and cooperative. The resort is nice but needs upgrading. Rooms had broken drawers, cabinets, etc.

Although the units have a motel-like look from the outside, the inside of our unit was spacious, clean and had a kitchen with a fridge, microwave and 2 burner stove. The rental included the use of kayaks, paddle boards and beach activities, and had a large pool. The restaurant immediately adjacent to the pool had excellent food and drink options. The beach was also very nice, and the staff was very accommodating! The only negative is that you need a car if you want to explore St. Croix because the resort is in a location not near much of anything else. We stayed for a week, but rented a vehicle for 3 days so we could enjoy what the island had to offer. judiofcroix.com will deliver a rental car to you and pick it up thus avoiding cab fees. That was an amazing plus!!

Pros: everyone who worked there was amazingly kind; beach was onsite; a/c worked well. Cons: bed was extremely hard; every day was a crapshoot on cleanliness - I found used contact lenses, someone else's hair, and sand in the shower. The amount and type of towels were different every day. Various items were broken (the phone, tv); I asked for an ice bucket every day and finally received it on the 3rd day. Biggest con: nightly entertainment at the attached restaurant is LOUD and gets louder as the week goes on, as does the duration. One night continued into midnight with the bass so loud I couldn't sleep. Note: strongly recommend you rent a car; this resort is too far from anything else and taxis are unreliable and expensive.
