8/10 Very good

Great Location, Lots of Potential
There are quite a few good points about the KL Journal that make it an attractive choice. Pros: * The reception team are lovely! Friendly and professional. Any issues dealt with promptly and courteously. The morning duty manager on 7/8/9 Sept deserves a pay rise. * Tasty, excellent breakfast. If they forget at check in (as the man who checked me in did, no problem, the lady the next morning handled it exactly as I would have trained my team to do, apologise and give the promotion price), ask about the RM20 promotion. * Nice pool deck. * Awesome lobby and music! Pleasant and upbeat, invites you right in. Opportunities: * Housekeeping and cleanliness really lets this place down. The earliest my room makeup started was 2.15pm. At 6pm they are still trying to clean. A key issue I spotted was that the housekeeper works alone. She has a heap to get through so corners get cut. Missing amenities, reused coasters, dust, towels that need recycling. There's a lack of accountability and, thus, care factor. * Maintenance issues in my room that don't reflect the hotel pricing point, especially with other new choices in the area. Will follow up separately via email. * Pool area great but music needs reviewing. Don't play it just because it's in English and makes you look hip. One song had loads of F bombs. Another quite explicitly told us all the various locales for hot flings. Hmmmm. Perhaps you find some Potato Head sunset tunes on Spotify

10/10 Exceptional

Great location, close to train stations and the major shopping district in Bukit Bintang. Lots of food and convenience shops nearby as well. The room is modern, spacious and clean. The shower was great, but the bathroom overall could do with more hangers/hooks. We couldn’t access any channels on the TV, but thankfully there was still YouTube although it was quite laggy. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful, they loaned us an umbrella when it was pouring one evening. The hotel gym felt a little neglected, with only a couple of dumbbells and cardio machines. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we are quite likely to stay here again the next time we are in KL :)

Good hotel but the AC wasn't good.
The hotel is good. But we had this horrible sound coming from the AC amd they couldn't fix it. The streets around the hotel aren't clean and the view from our room wasn't good as well.

Disappointing service
Limited parking space, only first come first serve basis, information on the listing is misleading. Staff can’t be bothered to help liaise arrangements for parking nor talk nicely for other suggestions. Basically proposed you to go outside parking and check yourself if there are parking lots available. It just seems to me that staff are unhappy to welcome us in overall. The public parking aunty is more friendly than the hotel staff and though it the lots are full but she say to leave my car key with her and she will help made arrangements later. THIS IS CALL SERVICE!
