Booked with hotels.com and ad ised i was going to use Afterpay. Confirmation of booking i was advised the hotel will print a receipt on checkout as i choose to pay at check in. LITTLE did i know i would be told "sorry we do not accept Afterpay" so not only did i have to use half of my rent money but i was also sligged a $100 deposit on top of the $299. After just putting my mother who has dementia into full time care, this was the straw that broke the camels back. Also after getting into the room, there was no cold water (jug) in the fridge, called reception only to be told sure we can sent up water, but you will be charged. My reaction to that changed there mind and i was delivered x2 small bottles of water.
Later that night whilst out front having a smoke, there were x3 police cars, had no idea what was going on. After some time and several trips back to the room, i decided to have one last smoke. Well to my distress and discuss, there in clear sight was a coroners van, 10 minutes later a trolley with a deceased person was wheeled out and loaded up.
No consideration for the other guest nor for the deceased. Shame on you Novatel!! This should have been handled decently by at least using the basement or carpark underneath.
