Disappoint to see how the standards dropped
This once was a very great hotel!!!! The hotel and rooms are now very worn. Missing carpet in hallways, broken elevator controls and worn out furnishings. Hallways smelt of mold and cooking grease. Being a regular traveler to Brisbane (for business) I have stopped at this hotel multiple time over the years and this is by far the worst experience. "Huge drawback"!!!!!. When booking of the hotel a request was made for onsite parking due to a knee injury. On arriving at the hotel I was told they no longer have onsite parking for hotel guest with parking offered at a hefty fee at Howard Smith Wharf. Explained the knee injury again only to be told that they nothing they could do! I enquired about canceling the booking due to the lack of parking but they were unwilling to offer a refund which was very poor form. The lack of parking of hotels issue not the guests. To quote the check in staff member " Well I didn't build the building or plan the carpark" Great service all round Meriton Lift the standards
