    Good 6.0
    Great location
Location is very good. Very convenient when coming in from the airport. Walking distance to the central shopping area. Lots of nice restaurants nearby. But hotel itself is old and outdated. Felt more like a 3 star hotel. No bedroom slippers, no turndown service, no complimentary bottled water ( the only bottle of water in the room is AUD 9). Decor is old and outdated. Bed is saggy. Tea and coffee provided is supermarket quality. Room was dark, lacks lighting, carpets are dark, ceiling is low. Aircon not working properly, even with a change of room. Hotel staff brought us a huge stand fan. Bathroom is basic, although toiletries and amenities provided were nice and generous. Hardly Sofitel standard.

    Good 6.0
I expected more from this hotel.
Few things were an issue which I wasn’t sure whether it was just my experience or not. The room smell unpleasant when in first came in. Sort of a musty/sweaty smell. Room service dinning was not possible on first night because no one was answering the phone. Also, had problems getting out of parking when the validated parking ticket was not working and had to get replacement. Otherwise, location is good. Quiet rooms.

Lost a little shine (probably Covid's fault?)
Nice enough, but not really worth the extra money unfortunately. I know it's isn't the hotel's fault, as Covid meant that most of the place was closed (Bars, pools, spas, restaurants) But there are things I noticed that weren't right and actually let the hotel down. Silly things like some rubbish just outside the lift on out level that stayed there all weekend, which I was surprised about. I've stayed at Sofitel before and this was poorest experience so far.

    Exceptional 10.0
Everything was very central to Sofitel. We walked everywhere. Staff were very helpful. Great bar area....(Pina Colada’s were the best) and the restaurant was awesome. Every meal we had was delicious 😋 Highly recommend.

    Poor 2.0
Checkin wasn't available until 3pm, there were no staff around to help, everything was closed down, no buffet breakfast or valet parking, even though they emailed me and charged me for an upgrade for both those items... It was like staying at an abandonded hotel...

Great location easy to get to and plenty of restaurants around if you don’t want to eat at the good restaurant in the hotel

    Very good 8.0
The property is in an excellent location. It’s very easy to walk to Southbank, museums and the shops and is easy to access the train station if it’s required. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was very clean and had a great view of the City. I didn’t use the pool or other amenities so can’t comment on those.

    Very good 8.0
This is a tired hotel that does not desrve a 5 star rating. Rooms are large, but furniture and bathrooms need a full refurb. At best shower pressure is average to poor.
