Had to stay last minute for a family member in the hospital after a ski accident. The office staff was super supportive on checkout and let me hold my room a bit longer while I went to the hospital to check release status. I truly appreciated that so that I didn't have to pack up in case I had to stay longer. I had been checking in and out of hotels daily for 3 days, due to the unknown release date, which was super stressful.
Basecamp is a nostalgic hotel with a lot of charm. Having a brewery down stairs with music is convenient. This was our first time coming here and loved the location and the great ambiance.
good stay. great location a few blocks walking distance from gondola. the room was clean and roomy. they did a good job with covid of quick check in and contactless check out. Only suggestion would be to change the shower heads as the shower is very small and the shower head was very awkward and made it hard to get under the actual water. Overall good value
Let's be honest. Pros: Clean room with remodeling bath Nice room design Cons: -I had a heater in my room but it worked unproperly and annoying -No microwave owen in the room and in a hole building (that actually surprised me) -I had a fridge in my number but it seems to me it wouldn't work properly to(looks like they put it only to demonstrate that it needs to be here) -no USB charge outlet. Cmon guys we are in 21 century and you have to have all this digital things.
The only problem i had was there was no microwave or mini fridge.. thats a crucial part of a hotel.
It was a great time. Only minor negative conditions. Overall it was wonderful. The young lady that checked us was very friendly and nice. Coffee at the restaurant was excellent, as was the young man that served us was very friendly. Enjoyed it immensely!!
The stay was pleasant, staff very helpful. Happy with stay. Only one little detail-breakfast was included in advertisement with reality not only it was for purchase but also even a microwave was for extra $15 charge (had to bring own portable stove to warm up all restaurant foods).
Our stay was perfect with basecamp hotel! Friendly staff. Very clean. Location is near a lot of stores and about a 5 minute walk from the gondolas!
When we got to our room we found the heater was not working. The hotel staff came in banged the heater and said it was good. We kept doing this and the heater would work for a minute then stop again. We told the hotel staff of the continued issue and they gave us a heat lamp to use. On the third night of the trip the heat lamp broke because of continued use... When we told the front desk they were very upset stating it was our fault the lamp broke... ARE YOU KIDDING? They gave us a room in Lake Tahoe in the middle of winter with no working heater and did not fix it of course we used the provided heat lamp... Also on the second night of our stay a large group of guests literally threw a party in the middle of the parking lot and I did not sleep at all... We woke up to puke the next morning in the parking lot... Overall a horrible stay....
Basecamp is a very good property. It fits exactly into the Lake Tahoe experience and the staff is exceptional. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Parking is very nice. I recommend this property to anyone looking for the true Tahoe experience. Superb front desk staff and modern texting for communication make your stay a treat.
