Profile: Downtown Sacramento

Downtown Sacramento is a must for history buffs and passionate foodies alike. You can experience the state’s rich heritage at the California State Capitol Museum or the California State Railroad Museum, and re-live the Gold Rush era through the expertly restored buildings of Old Sacramento.

Sacramento's central district is also renowned for farm-to-fork restaurants and fine dining. Alternatively, you can catch one of the many performance groups or a Broadway show at venues such as the Community Center Theater. Being the heart of town, buzzing bars and shopping malls are plentiful on this side of Sacramento's landmark Tower Bridge.

    Very helpful staff, clean room

Our stay was very nice. The front desk - particularly Vivian was very helpful. We asked for a room change to a higher floor since there was a big concert at the Golden 1 Center the night we stayed and didn't want to deal with street noise (and the crows nesting on the trees the morning after (yes they were loud!) - we were accommodated.

    Great historical hotel but modern

Great hotel with great staff. Historical building with modern rooms. The only complaint is I wish I could have got the AC a little colder (I like it cool to sleep).

I was disappointed because I was told I would get double bed, but upon arrival they change their mind. I wish I would have known before so could have cancelled and got different hotel. I was pleased with all other excellent staff except check in people.

    The Exchange Sacramento

I choose this hotel because i noticed that it was recently renovated. when we first got there i forgot that since it was downtown there was only parking garage and valet. the gentleman at the valet was very kind and help me out with that i needed ( don't forget to tip :) ). once my friend and i got inside the hotel front desk checked us in quickly and we were able to go to out room on the 8th floor. every thing was clean and i was happy with the room. it was spacious and the bed was comfortable. there was black out curtain that cover the light in the morning and we slept soundly 100% would stay there again
