Highgate is an amazing area with a lot of history. You will be 5 min away to the famous cemetery of London. The same 5 min away to Hampstead Heath to enjoy a nice jogging in the park or just a walk during the sunset. There is some nice coffee 5 min away to the place to take a breakfast. Cafe & Restaurants: Kalendar, Gail’s, and Al Parco are great anytime. For a posh meal, try Carob Tree. There are many more down to Kentish Town. My favorite for Italian is Pizza East, and Bull & Gate is a fine gastropub. Grocery Tesco is open 7 am – 10 pm. Farmer’s Market is every Saturday from 10 am – 2 pm in Hampstead Heath, not far from the corner entrance. Pharmacy Tesco has basics, and Simmond’s Chemist is across the street. Dry cleaning Sami at Perfect Cleaners will take care of you. It’s at 151 Highgate Road. Walk towards Kentish Town for 10 minutes or take the C2 to the Gospel Oak, then cross the street to a cluster of stores.
Hampstead Heath You can’t miss it at the foot of the hill. At 750 acres, Hampstead Heath is the largest urban park in Europe, and the ancient forest is magical. Highgate Village Walk out of the estate (either side), and head up the hill to visit cozy Highgate Village. It’s full of restaurants, pubs and shops. There’s also a dentist. Highgate Cemetary Go out, take a right, and then walk 100 m up the hill. This picturesque cemetery features famous people like Karl Marx. The guided tour is well worth the fee.Transit
In front of Tesco, you find the C11, which goes to Archway Tube. By the part are the C2 or 214 to Kentish Town Tube, Camden Town, Oxford Circus and Angel. Archway and Kentish Town are on the Northern Line, which runs all night on weekends. When returning, make sure you take the High Barnet or Mill Hill East branch. Do not take Edgeware - it splits off at Camden Town. If you’re heading east to Shoreditch or west to Kew Gardens, take the Overground at Gospel Oak.Notes
