Overall, we had a great time (in 2 of the cottage rooms). The hotel is well located for the beach and walks to restaurants etc. The rooms were big and the beds were too (and comfortable). The staff were friendly and helpful. The car park costs were good compared to other local car parks albeit we were lucky getting a space at the Marriott car park - there are others very close by, however.
Alas, we had a wait for our cottage rooms to be available (4:30pm) but were given a couple of drinks vouchers by way of apology. Despite the wait for the room to be declared ready, we discovered crisps on the floor by the bed and (too late) that there was no shampoo or conditioner for the shower - the staff were prompt and attentive when rectifying that though. The floor of the bathroom was ripped and had holes in the lino which sums up that the cottages look and feel 'tired' and could do with a proper refresh. So not an issue with the staff, more the company and their need to invest in their assets !
Very sadly, although the weather was great the outdoor pool was closed for the season and I wonder if the hotel management could be more flexible about keeping an unheated pool available for a bit longer into the year - even 'cold' it will get plenty of use I'm sure.
As noted above, we had a great stay overall.
