The resort is unique in its own. An unique property with a 4 km pristine beach in front. The staff is really professional and welcoming and the area is extremely clean and calm.
There are, however, some aspects that might have been handled differently, such as:
- communication with the hosts: after having booked the property for the new year period, we have been told that there was a 'mandatory' NYE dinner at 150usd/person, without alcohol. We found the request quite shocking as a guest should be informed before making a reservation. Furthermore, there was no menu a' la carte for that price but a series of food station not in line with a 5 star hotel establishment.
The quality of the breakfast can also be improved with a better choice of gluten free options, that should be in line with the standards of a 5 star establishment.
Other points to improve:
- sustainability: use of plastic can be reduced, in line with new sustainability strategies of other similar hotels;
- property conditions: in some houses, thatch on the roofs is almost gone and need to be put again;
- looking for alternatives for energy generation: use of solar panels on houses' roofs can diminish the pressure of oil fuelled generators in the area.
Despite all this the staying was relaxing although I would not classify the resort as a '5 stars' if one compares it with other ones in the country or the region.
