was forced to sleep in my car rental
worst experience ive ever had in my 43 yrs of travelling. the checkin instructions email states checkin starts at 3pm. does not state an end to checkin at all. i booked the room last minute at 6:28pm (we were unsure how far we could drive so we waited to book a room) ... we arrived at 9:45pm and checkin is at another property 4 min walk away. no one there. lights off. called the provided ph# about 8-10 times from 2 different phones. no answer. called hotels.com gold line and was 1st advised they will relocate us at No charge (bc they could not reach the property either).
they come back to the line with all kinds of excuses.. first trying to claim the email states the checkin, it does not also i made the bkg at 6:28pm and allegedly its already closed by then so why accept my bkg?? due to an event, the entire fort lauderdale in a 30 mile radius was SOLD OUT (or wayyyyyy out of our budget for a few hours to sleep indoors. hotels.com says we will need to pay for any difference in fare. so after driving over 17 hours, we had to "sleep" in the car rental. the most inconsiderate bs ive ever experienced and i work in the travel industry since 2008 so I know what im doing. they were trying to blame me. no future courtesy credit was offered and im still waiting on the refund for my prepaid bkg. needless to say "ths charter house" is at the top of my sh*t list. location is awesome but not if we cant get inside the room people.
