This is by far the worst hotel I have ever had the displeasure of stepping foot in.
The staff are cold and unhelpful and unprepared. They don’t make eye contact and act annoyed to have you cross their path. Check in was confusing with an ill-prepared person who didn’t answer questions or give us paid-for breakfast vouchers without prompting several times.
Not that it mattered. The walls might as well have been constructed out of wax paper. Every sound carried through them. I could hear the neighbor adjusting their position in bed, and I could hear even when they dropped a towel on the floor of their bathroom, among other things. The doors don’t fit on their hinges making it hard to even tell if someone is knocking on your door or someone else’s, since every sound down the whole hallway feels positively projected into your room. In this context, it’s even better to have the default room assignment be: “close to other people, as close to the elevator as possible.” A low fridge-like hum that cut in and out and came from the adjacent room was a finishing touch.
Long story short, we got maybe 4 hours of sleep and slept through an alarm. No way to redeem the breakfast voucher! No gesture of goodwill from the catatonic desk attendant or absentee manager.
Bathroom? Nasty thing that would fit into a horror movie and let out rust-colored water when first used. Temperature? Sweltering. Smelled awful!
And the price! They should pay you to stay. This hotel ought to be condemned!!!
