Rumfish at Tradewinds in Feb 2025
The room was advertised as resort view but a palm tree was up against our balcony so no view from our balcony. We asked if we could move to another room but no one ever followed up on our request. A yes or no can do would have been nice. The worest coffee we have ever had offered at a "resort" i have had better at a hotel. There is still alot closed from hurricanes in oct 2024 but there is still plenty of restaurants to choose from. Rumfish fell short on the food, crab legs came out cold and waitress never checked back with us for 20 minutes so our complaint fell on deaf ears and she acted like it was our fault for eating them cold. It could have been because it was superbowl sunday but they shpukd not have offered the full menu if they couldn't hsndle it.

The room was clean, nice and very comfortable. The staff was wonderful. Its obvious the place is still recovering from TWO hurricanes that hit the area last fall but they are getting things back to normal. Will definitely go back

Beware the extra fees!
This property is recovering from Hurricane Helene and so it is in pretty rough condition. That said, the room itself was fine and they have done a good job of getting pools and other guest services cleaned and ready to go. Still, there is a long way to go. The primary concern is that there was an extra "resort fee" tacked on. I am aware of resort fees in general but here they charged one on Hotels.com and then ANOTHER at the hotel. It made the hotel a not-very-good-deal in the end and those deceptive practices just taint the whole experience. Also, the beds were super uncomfortable- like sleeping in a hammock. The walls are also very thin and there was a screaming infant next door for multiple hours (security was responsive and found the mother at the bar!) It just has a rust-belt feel to it all. The food was mediocre at best. Would not go back.

The two queen beds were barely a double to the point me and my wife slept in separate beds to have room to sleep. RumFish restaurant was sub par. Gross playing of the jerk chicken. My NY strip steak was about 50% not edible because it was so tough. I won’t waste money here again. .

I would expect a Tradewinds resort to be a little more updated than it is. it did not meet what I expected. as far as condition of the property. The pillows are old and flat. there's no detail to cleaning around faucets and bathroom fixtures. things just to look a little old and run down.
