The hotel is conveniently located and reasonably priced, and the reception staff were lovely- but that’s where it ended.
First up, don’t rely on the self parking. The security gate doesn’t look like it’s worked for some time and is left open. Their is an active building site next door and numerous times we watched builders take the spots and walk on site, other times we watched surfers return from the beach, towel off and change before leaving in there utes.
The main wing of accommodation is around a central internal open space, with a pool table on the ground floor so people playing pool in the morning and evening echoed so you could hear the crack of pool balls in your room.
Unfortunately we had to stay when a surf contest was on that hired out the the Surf Club two streets away - so we were subjected to the PA system speeches until 9pm as the sound proofing to windows is non existent.
The photos online are of the made over lobby and a few token room shots - because the owners have not spent money on anything else. The outside is ran down, the electrical work for power points probably doesn’t meet standards and cleaning is a bit hit and miss.
Oh, a can of Coke from the vending machine was $2.50 but $2.70 with the card surcharge- I don’t know anywhere else charging 8% as a card surcharge!
Great location and good for the budget, just don’t expect too much else.
