Geneva is very walkable and it has a wonderful public transit system, which is free for tourists staying at registered accommodation. Lovely promenades along both sides of the lake. Lots of interesting places to see, including CERN and Mont Salêve.

I definitely needed to make this at least 3-4 days. Two days were not enough. I spent a day at CERN which was not enough. The central part, the old town needs some time as well. A beautiful city with nice parks, hence visiting in spring is better.

Geneva is a great city break. Everywhere is so clean and you can either walk around or use their fantastic transport system. Plenty of history to see, a calm atmosphere and a whole host of places to eat. However, it is VERY expensive!

I have been to Geneva three times and always discover new things to see and do. This trip it was the Christmas Market and the Patek Phillipe watch museum. Simply walking the area near the water is magical.

Easy to walk around, although easy to lose your bearings in the characterful old town. It was very hot when we were there but plenty of places to rest in the shade. Huge choice of dining options at various price ranges so something for everyone.

The transportation system is great! The free Geneva card that you get for staying at a Geneva hotel arrives about three days before your stay. The hotel handles it without you doing anything. Free buses and trams in Geneva for the length of your stay

Such a lovely place. Amazing walks around the lake. Excellent transport system. We stayed clear of taxis as we were told they were very expensive. It is an expensive area but you can find reasonable food and drink places, you just need to look.
"What a lovely hotel , the staff were warm and welcoming, lovely lounge and breakfast area , cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, thoroughly enjoyed our stay "
"We had a lovely stay at this hotel. So convenient in terms of location, the staff is helpful and kind, and the hotel is very clean and the equipment is in good working order."
"Affordable hotel in Geneva. Only 1400metres from the Brunswick Monument and 15-20 minutes walk into the historical part of time. Public transport available, but I chose to walk. Only 15 minutes walk from Geneva station with luggage. Room was comfortable and bathroom clean. Good buffet breakfast. Area felt safe as a solo female traveller. Definitely recommend this Ibis hotel"
"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars – Pleasantly Surprised!
I was honestly blown away by how incredible this hotel was—especially for the price! The room was absolutely gorgeous: spacious, tastefully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was spotless, with fantastic water pressure in the shower that made it feel like a luxury spa.
The bath towels were impressively large and plush—such a nice touch you don’t always get, even at more expensive places. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, and their warm, accommodating attitude really stood out.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at how much value we got for such an affordable rate. I’d absolutely stay here again and recommend it without hesitation!"
