Seminyak is an upmarket area of Bali, and it's full of resorts with luxurious facilities. From poolside fun to fine dining, there's so much to do in these large resorts that you might not want to wander too far from your room. However, if you can tear yourself away from the fun, you'll find upmarket shopping, dining, and spectacular beaches just a short stroll from most hotels.

Things to see

Double Six Beach is a focal point of Seminyak, and this long stretch of golden sand is where you'll find surfers, volleyball players, and sunbathers. With clear, warm seas and gentle waves, it's a great place to learn to snorkel, or you can take a boat out for some scuba diving and see colourful marine life. Double Six Beach becomes a lively party spot at night, with the beach lit by lanterns and the surrounding bars playing music until late. Close to the seafront you'll find the grand Petitenget Temple which is an important cultural landmark for Hindus. Dating back to the 15th century, this dramatic red-bricked temple sits in a serene area of forest, and has a peaceful, contemplative atmosphere. Ensure you cover up when you visit, and consider taking a tour where you'll be shown the intricate details carved into stone, and the unique features of the temple.
