Highly recommend trying out many of the restaurants and bars in the old town. I would highly recommend hiring a car to explore stone the area, including Perast and the Lustica peninsula. We drove up the serpentine for incredible views of Kotor bay

Good
Kotor is a great city that shows its many layers of history. The biggest down side is the number of people that come for just a few hours each day on cruise ships. They make the town very congested and don't seem to add much to the economy.

The Old City is small and easy walkable, NOT high heels! 2-3 hours fairly enough. A lot of places for good eats Summer is not good option - very hot. We were 15Jun and was 34 Celsius

Lots of places to eat. Food generally very good. Centre very busy but eat outside city walls and it's a lot quieter. Scenery and mountains stunning.

The streets are really narrow, so give yourself time to get to where you are going and prepare for potential traffic jams at times. Kotor Was very crowded and finding parking was extremely difficult, but we drove onto Perast, and it was a fantastic

Buzzy but busy, in part due to the regular cruise ships stopping by everyday, sometimes as many as three

If you're into hiking as well as a beach experience this is an amazing place!
"There hotel is wonderful. Located near the Sea Gate for easy access, it only has 9 large rooms with names, not numbers. The interior is unique with quality marble in the spacious bathroom. The hotel is associated with a quality restaurant and breakfast can be eaten outside. Kotor's Old Town is magical and the Boutique Hotel Astoria is the perfect place to stay."
"Right in the heart of the Kotor Walls (inside!) this place was a surprise. Unbelievably beautiful and modern designed accommodations within walking distance to all the main areas/bay happenings. Couldn't ask for anything more, and the price is right. "
"I had a wonderful experience staying at Studios Belva. The location is perfect—close to everything, but still peaceful. The hostess was incredibly kind and responsive, always ready to help with anything I needed. "
