Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is located centrally, which made it a great pick to get around the city. The rooms were clean, but in need of some maintenance to get them back into good condition. We stayed in a traditional Japanese room. Our room had scratches and some staining on the walls, grout in the bathroom was discoloured and the furniture could use some updating (scratches on the table, the sitting chair were a bit discoloured). All that said, it was a great central spot to see the city!

The japanese room (10 tatami mats) is very spacious (by japanese standard) and has divided living/sitting areas. The decor seems dated and worn. However, for the convenience of location and space, i would stay there again.

Eh.
We changed from our inital room because it was extremely dark and weirdly laid out. Second room was more comfortable, comparatively. Staff were courteous and helpful. Hotel is in just okay shape. Bathrooms are uncomfortable and outdated. Showerheads are misplaced and difficult to use (too close to the wall). Chairs and tables in rooms are worn out. Hotel doesn't provide water to room unless you agree to not have the room cleaned every day. Our bathroom sink only had scaldingly hot water. The seventh floor is noisy because there is a kitchen / service area entrance without a door on that floor.
