Hope Check-in/Reception will be in one place soon. Had difficulty finding the Check-in place.

Exceptional 10.0
It was very clean and comfortable. Not very close to the JR line, but there was a bus stop nearby that was useful.

Well service

Good 6.0
lack of service - stayed 2 nights in 3 rooms but garbage was never emptied with 2 very small garbage cans in each room. Coffee was not replenished either. The rooms are very clean, new and modern but water is not hot in the shower and lack of water pressure. In order to get the garbage emptied, you have hand the tag on the door which was hidden inside the room manual.

Very good 8.0
Budget friendly, comfortable and close to bus line
Location was within a 1 minute walk from a bus stop with direct access to Kyoto Station and a mini-mart where we bought drinks, sandwiches and breakfast items. The front desk is staffed from 12:00-21:00. You can check in after 12:00 get your key but may not access your room until 4:30 check in time. The front desk will keep your bags and deposit them in your room for you which is what we did. We were emailed regarding our planned check in time so that arrangements could be made if we arrived before or after staffing hours using a code and lockbox type system which we saw on our way out when we dropped our key in the lockbox by the unstaffed desk in the morning. One of the staff members at check in spoke very good English and gave us bus and train directions to a shrine and a tourist map in English. Our room had 2 beds as requested, desk with 2 chairs, large closet, mini fridge, toiletries, slippers, robes, TV and hairdryer in the room. The room was air conditioned, which was needed. The hotel is very clean, very comfortable and very quiet. We Initially walked there from Kyoto Station (about 2k away) then figured out the bus system to get around to the temples. There is an elevator, also a plus. We were in room 201 in the back of the hotel away from the street noise. There were only 4 rooms on that floor. Additionally, we walked past 2 temples on our walk from the train station.
