It’s a really nice condo, however the location was not the greatest, very steep hills, not in a nice location and the pool was not cleaned and it was very cold.

Our stay at Hotel Chantel was lovely and charming. The staff there are very responsive and welcoming. The rooms were meticulously clean, had working AC (really nice in the hot weather), and coffee maker with Britt coffee. Check in time was a little delayed after 2 pm due to the room not being clean her but it was not a big deal to us. There is a small wading pool about neck deep that has gorgeous views of the bay and gets tons of sun in the afternoon. Perfect to lounge in that area and cool off in the pool then dry off just by sitting outside. A restaurant upstairs has great food, large drinks, reasonably priced, nice music, friendly staff. You should get a reservation at the restaurant when you check in if you plan to go because it is very popular. Overall we loved our stay here and it was quiet at nighttime (versus in the town it was more lively). Close to the airport.

Boutique hotel, high on a hill, overlooking Playas del Coco. Breathtaking views! Requires short drive (or cab ride) to get to town or beach, but well worth it. Completely renovated, lovely rooms. Wonderful owner lives onsite, and staff is very friendly & helpful. Lovely little restaurant on the roof; limited menu but very good food at reasonable prices, plus extensive craft beer menu. Nice breakfast included, and room rates are very reasonable. Honestly, "downtown" is noisy and pretty limited in terms of things to do - gets old quickly. It was great to come back to this quiet retreat after a day of SCUBA, sightseeing, etc. Full kitchenette in our toom, with small supermarkets nearby, so that was handy. I stumbled onto this place, based upon TripAdvisor reviews, and feel like it was a really lucky break!

The staff was very helpful and welcoming. We forgot a watch in the room and they promptly contacted us to let us know. The view from our room was amazing. Room was quiet and comfy; not much room for our luggage though but not a big deal.

Hotel Chantel was expensive considering the accommodations. Key to get into the room took some to figure out and you had to use the key to lock the inside of the room also. There is a pool but it is very dirty. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and there aren't any other options for food or drinks unless you go into town. The wifi signal was not strong enough in our room to have a signal. We had an early flight in the morning and had to check out around 6am. However, there was not a receptionist at the desk to check us out.

The hotel was great! The view was amazing, but my favorite part was breakfast. A amazing Costa Rica style breakfast! Would definitely stay there again.
