The pool was a little off. Not as clear as it should be. The property next door blasted music from 11pm till 2am both nights we were there. Really loud. Earplugs no help loud

It's a little tired and could use some upgrading and modernizing, in areas such as lighting, furniture and general maintenance.

2/10 Poor

From the minute we walked in we realized that there were things that were never listed such as charging extra for using Visa or Mastercard, only two towels per room (no hand or face towels), no bottle water in the room, no ice anywhere on the property, coffee was horrible and the so called "breakfast" was made up of bread, cereal and bananas while the staff were eating hot breakfast. Generally speaking: waste of money.

It's right on the water. My beginner Spanish was sufficient even though the clerk's English is marginal. I had asked for the hotel to make arrangements for a boat in the morning, but I think that request was lost due to language difficulty. It wasn't a problem because there are plenty of captains waiting for a request from visitors. The rooms are large and clean although sparsely furnished. We would definitely stay there again.

2/10 Poor

We booked and paid for this place about 2 months before our trip to Mexico. However, after a long drive that day from Tulum arriving this hotel at 8.45pm, we were informed at the counter that check in time was 3-7pm, and our room was already re-sold to other people. Hotel staff was extremely not helpful and not caring, and speaks no English. How on earth they can resell my room to other people?? We received no phone calls or e-mails that day from this hotel to check if we were going to make it that night. In any case, we paid for the room, this hotel had no right to resell our room without our consent. We then called hotes.com for help, and service wasn't ideal, basically they cannot find us anywhere else close to stay. We then had to drive and ask every hotel in this little town for a place to stay for the night. The town itself was cute, just so disappointed by staff in this hotel.

Friendly convenient hotel.
Handy for bus station in Rio Lagartos. 5 mins walk max.Top floor room at back overlooking pool also had views of the lagoon as up so high.Second visit here and will return again! Convenient also for the Cenote/ bar with hummingbirds at end of Malecon.(To right as you leave the hotel) Boat trips also leave from here and cost 1,200 pesos for one and a half hours.Trip includes all the usual attractions...Flamingoes, wildlife, birds, crocs and pink saltwater lagoon.....very enjoyable morning!

Book this Hotel!
I love the hotel. It is very clean and smells great! I love the atmosphere of the place -- very fisherman feel and beachy feel as well. Very laid back and cozy place. Would love to come back and stay here longer if I have the opportunity.

Wonderful location
The hotel is located on the road overlooking the sea. We were on the 2nd floor and had a very large balcony, which was lovely, so had uninterrupted sea views. It was interesting watching the fishermen. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable, very large, double bed. The room and bathroom were both clean but, disappointingly, they only cleaned the room after the first night. We would have expected at least for the toilet bin to have been emptied daily. For such a large room there was not much furniture. We brought in a bench from the balcony to put our cases on. There was no wardrobe, but there were hooks that we used to hang our clothes on. It would have been good to have some coat hangers. We had problems working out how to get hot water in the shower, but one of the ladies came up to the room to show us and it was fine after that. We're sure the pool and surrounding area are pleasant under normal circumstances. However, during our stay there was building work in the reception area which is adjacent to the pool area. It was quite dusty and noisy by the pool with workmen drilling etc nearby and walking through with materials. It didn't cause us major problems as we were out most of the day but when we did use the pool it wasn't very relaxing. Breakfast was basic, but what we expected, with fresh fruit, toast, fruit juice and tea or coffee. We would consider staying here again if we were returning to Rio Lagartos.

Wonderful Stay
Our stay here was totally enjoyable. The staff was extremely helpful and gracious. We went to Rio Lagartos to take a boat tour to see the flamingos. The front desk person helped us book a boat that took us on an excellent tour. It was basic accomodations, similar to the rest of the interior of the Yucatan. The breakfast was fresh fruit and amazing coffee! We sat on the porch relaxing while we ate and visited with other patrons while enjoying the waterfront. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Great room
Room: Great, very spacious and clean. Air con was really good. We had a sea-view with a large terrace. Location: Right on the beach, really central. Food: Breakfast was a bit disappointing. We had a fruit salad, followed by toast (no other options)> Wifi: Worked really well in the room as well as downstairs. Staff: Friendly.
