Did not like: No hot water 2 out of 4 days. Outdated furniture. Terrible pillows. Bathroom shower sliding door did not work. TV did not work (no reception). No iron. Closet was makeshift portable wardrobe. What was good: Friendly staff in kitchen during morning breakfast. One of the night reception attendants. It had a clean pool. Quiet neighborhood.

Well this was my 3rd time staying here. The staff is super nice. Shout out to my guy Christian for giving me some great customer service. He was always helpful. The ladies at the bar are very nice as well. They helped me with my Espanol and I taught them a little English. The pool was cloudy the first day but knowing i swim every day they whipped it into shape quickly and skimmed it every morning. Overall the property is kept very clean. The ladies on the floors are mopping and cleaning all day nonstop. Like everything in Santo Domingo it is a little broken if you look close enough. My suite had a jacuzzi tub but the drain stopper didnt work that well. With a little ingenuity and common sense i was able to have a few soaks in some super hot water. The tvs are small though and my phone never worked right. No big deal. The bed was nice but like most pillows in the DR they were terrible. The hotel food was good but got boring quickly. Luckily Villar Hermanos is across the street if you need a change. A pharmacy and bank super close and the colmado down the street has some of the coldest beer in Snto Domingo. Overall for the money spent this is a little gem close to the colonial zone.

My stay in La Casona Dorada was really exceptional, the members of the hotel make you feel at home, a real pleasure, from the reception to the room service. I can mention Maria, Cristian lulu the chef and all the others, thank you for making me spend 10 days very like family. thank you all. I will see you again
