Cheap..good location....
If you want cheap in a good location.. Ideal... If you want new and swanky this isn't it.
Michael, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Very very basic
Very budget. No soap to wag hands only one towel between 2 people. Rooms clean but very untidy and in a mess. Bathroom clean but tiny broken tiles leaking toilet.
Zoe, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Clean room & bathroom/shower, comfortable clean bed. Lovely old house turned into an affordable hotel. Stairways a bit tired. Excellent location for tube within central London. Friendly staff & a relaxing reception area on ground floor for coffee etc, perfect room from a bygone era!

Maybe not worth the money...
My stay at Somerset Hotel was disappointing due to several maintenance issues. The property appears run-down and in need of renovation. The shower lacked hot water, making it uncomfortable to use, and the towels had an unpleasant odor. Additionally, the windows could not be opened, which affected ventilation and overall comfort. I hope management takes these concerns into account to improve the guest experience.

I would stay again
Pros: 1. Cheap 2. Close to public transport & tourism 3. Comfortable to relax in room Cons: 1. WiFi constantly disconnected 2. No amenities in room 3. Floors and walls very think and creak with every step.
Jonathan, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Excellent hotel staff. Hotel itself was a little outdated but fit for purpose and had a small fan in room, which was handy this time of year.
Daniel, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Everything was good for the price, the halls if the hotel should be renovated but they're working on it at the moment. Central London, great location, good prices, just needs to be updated. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Andrejs, 2-night trip

It is, what it is
Basic accommodation for the able body person who doesn’t want to go out later than 12am. Bathroom, bedding clean. Ideal for a quick stop over, it served its purpose

Well located budget hotel.
This hotel was convenient for the Baker St area and fulfilled my requirements.

We checked in and promptly decided to find another place to stay. It was filthy.

George on reception was the best aspect of the hotel. He was very pleasant.

The hotel was not clean overall. The room was dirty especially the bathroom. The key pad at the main entrance is faulty, we struggled to get in after midnight. The staff were nice. The area is nice. Shops close by and a tube station.

Not Clean
Hotel level of cleanliness across the hotel was poor, my pillow had a blood stain on it and the room towels were dirty. One of the rooms had a tiny bath but no shower. The quality of furniture in room was very poor and sparse. The overall quality of the building was poor and looked to be under construction. I wouldn't recommend staying here. Price was around £150 per room/night, which doesn't seem to reflect the low quality of the hotel.
Grant, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

2 words: mite and bedbugs. The hotel and the room are old, beaten and filthy. All walls are cracked, the carpet is disgusting, staircases patched with duck tape and the furniture is all beaten. A homeless shelter would look more decent. We woke up all bitten by bedbugs after coughing all night because of the mite. There are no noise cancelation windows and all the street noise flows to the room, as the sound of people walking on the room upstairs. It was the first time in my life I had to leave a hotel earlier and look for another one … thats what we had to do. Run away. This place should have bern shut down by the sanitary authorities.

Family stay after Lords cricket
We stayed here with our two children as was heading to Lords for the cricket. Great location for that and a nice big room with two doubles but other than that this is a hotel we will not be returning too. Our room was really very tired, broken chair in room, carpets torn and held down with tape on stairs, one of the bed was so saggy it made us laugh, the bathroom was grim, toilet needed descaling, broken floor tiles, wood on edge of bath was damp and rotten, ceiling paint was peeling. It could be a wonderful hotel given some love and the staff we met were lovely.

Cheap, central, but very tired.
Somerset House is cheap, but the building is in dire need of a total overhaul. The chap at the desk was friendly, but the room was tired and the sound of creaking floorboards kept me awake for much of the night.

Basic, Needs Upgrading & Renovating
This hotel is at the low end of the pricing spectrum and the reviews are not good, so my expectations were low. Sadly my stay did not even reach those low expectations. The telly in the room was broken, the remote was broken and repeiared with gaffa tape, the bath was stained , there were splashes on the wall. The room needed renovation. However the price was low .

The property management refused to refund my booking after I was hospitalized. Despite numerous follow-ups, I have received no response from them.

Terrible room, Avoid!
Room wasn't in the best condition when I arrived which was late due to work. Shower didn't work, TV didn't work, slight dribble of lukewarm water from the sink was the best you could get. Room was very dirty, big crack on the window. Definitely one of the worst hotels I've stayed in & I use quite a few in the area. Only reason I used this one was that the usual price was much cheaper; now I know why. Looks like I got the room these hotels use for the late check in singlesvstaying just the one night.

Clean, which is good, but decoration half finished. A bit of a building site. Half the slats on the bed had fallen through, barely useable. Location is good though, and friendly staff.
Barney, 1-night trip

1 night was enough
Really basic room with no toiletries or drink making facilities. Bed was ok, communal areas really rundown, exposed cables and pipes, building/diy things stored in public areas. Convenient location but glad I only stayed 1 night. Staff members I engaged with were both friendly.
1-night trip

2/10 Poor

It was in a good spot at the city but the room was absolutely horrifying. The paint was missing in some spots, the wallpaper was peeling off, we had a hole in our wall and it smelled like mold in there. Also we could hear all the traffic noices from the outside since apparently there was a piece missing from the window. Honestly the staff and location of the hotel was a 10/10 so if u dont mind where you put your head down this is your place! bathroom was decent
nina, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The property needs reburbishment. The communal areas especially the walls need repainting. I had an issue with being given the wrong key but this was sorted out by the very helpful man in reception. There was no soap, shampoo or gel for showering. However the room was nice and the bed very comfortable and the wifi and television worked well.
