Charming area within Greenwich Village! The neighborhood is walkable and safe! Rooms and bathrooms are clean. Only one elevator so can be a little slow getting to your room on the street level.

The hotel is completely changed. They now have no restaurant no lounge area and the rooms are exceptionally small.

The room and hotel is so run down. Heater too hot. Couldn’t close window. Unpleasant smell in the hallway.

Great location and friendly staff

The stay was good, excellent location and what you want when you are busy seeing the city. The staff were friendly

8/10 Very good

Very small, felt like a 3rd class cabin on the titanic. But, if it would be a bit closer to the subway it would be super since it’s so much cheaper than anything else in NYC

I adore the Jane!

The Jane is one of my favorite hotels in the city. Perfect for just me for a few days, and I actually really enjoy the tiny little “cabins”! Super cozy and the service is very sweet, will always come back here!

10/10 Exceptional

Great location, pleasant staff, friendly guests. The room is quite tiny but completely sufficient if you’re not fussy and just need a safe and clean bed for the night. The showers & toilets are down the hall, college dorm style. There was a private rooftop party. Would be nice if guests could enjoy that area when not booked.

The only good thing about this property is the good staffs they have ,the place was like a prison ,very cramped . No access to stairs in case of emergency. The property should be scraped and a new one built .

Lovely management and clean facility. Unfortunately we could not complete our stay due to the construction! Hope to catch you once it’s completed.

2/10 Poor

A tragic devolution of this historic hotel. Lobby and amenities are gone. Bathrooms are dilapidated more reminiscent of a seedy hotel. Bring sandals! Bring water! I was asked to leave my room to relocate to replace carpets the second day of my three day stay. I have stayed here for 20 years and this will be my last.
Nathaniel, 3-night trip

The bedroom was esentially a sleeping pod and the whole place stinked of old pipes and urine. The area itself was quiet but I don’t know what was going inside the hotel. People from the staff slammed doors all around the place from 7am to 4am. Couldnt catch any sleep

Every single staff member, from the Bellman, to housekeeping to Front Desk, all impressively friendly and professional. They made my stay at The Jane top notch.
Mark, 4-night trip

2/10 Poor

Horrible experience it is totally FALSE the pictures online , it is lime horror movie cabain other people were yelling screaming and fighting I was about to call 911 , the front desk person acted disrecpecful claiming they were kids having fun but the group was over 18. It was dirty it has flies and they do not care, plese Do not, I repeat do not stay there. False advertisement the pictures I had to sleep dress because it was bad.
Silvia, 2-night trip

Avoid, dated, old, food smells

The hotel is in need of and upgrade. Rooms terrible and there is only one lift which takes forever (no stairs for guest access). The hotel smells of food and the restaurant next door uses the guest area to prepare food and transport items, felt like I was back of house. The hotel entrance is in a basement with super unsafe steps.

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and discovered bed bugs on night 4. We have photos as proof. Despite this, staff initially dismissed our concerns and only moved us to a new room after we insisted. They later steamed our belongings, but only after repeated requests. Because of this incident, one of us missed an important professional concert opportunity, which was a major reason for visiting. This was extremely disappointing and had real career consequences. The hotel staff told us they could only refund two nights because the reservation was made through Hotels.com. We confirmed directly with Hotels.com and with a hotel industry professional that this is not true. The hotel lied to us. Even after acknowledging photo evidence of bed bugs, they refused to take responsibility for the full stay. The situation caused significant stress, worry about bringing bed bugs home (which can cost thousands to eliminate), and major disruption to our trip. We are now dealing with steam-cleaning and freezing luggage to avoid contamination. A hotel should never: • deny evidence of bed bugs • mislead guests about refund rights • do the bare minimum only after pressure We are requesting a full refund, as we did not receive the service we paid for, and the stay was significantly impacted. Avoid this hotel. Not only because of bedbugs, but because of how poorly they handled the situation.

Been here before and felt comfortable and safe the last visit on why I chose to return for my solo stay.

Great! stay the smallest bunk rooms are very small but they're the cheapest around and we were barely in the room as we were out and the world. Staff was great and very helpful.

Hotel is under renovation, but it didn’t affect me much. It’s my third stay here and I’ll stay again if I’ll travel solo.

The property is historic and pretty however they have modernised the front entrance in a diy over stock storage for the club next door. However one gets a sense of nosey housekeeping. There was a dried booger on my robe. Perhaps they should focus on those details. Generally you are treated as an inmate in 'gen pop' when you stay in fhe hostel end of their hotel. Drink machine ? Snack machine ? Coffe set out in the morning? NO. And no stores for many blocks as this is a residential neighborhood. The price should be much lower. Especially considering the constant booming / shaking / the whistles and the fog horns going off ALL day.
