The property is stunningly beautiful. The staff are extremely friendly and non-intrusive. Bali is a hot climate and the air conditioning in the room worked well, the hot water for the shower did not work so well, there is no air conditioning in the lobby/restaurant area but there are a few cooling fans. The hotel has six boutique size swimming pools, absolutely marvellous. The food in the restaurant is quite good, the included breakfasts are very good, way better than what has become standard in North America.

This place is magical! Be aware that they do host retreats that utilize one of the outdoor stages with a PA system for the teacher to speak over sometimes early in the morning but it wasn't terribly loud. I stayed in both the standalone lodge and then moved to another room that was part of the retreat package I came for and both are amazing in their own way.

I enjoyed the location of the property. There was security who stopped everyone who entered so my partner and I felt safe. The staff and service was great for the entirety of our stay. We went to our room and saw that it didn’t have a bathtub, the whole reason we booked with this property and they were quick to accommodate us. The staff was very friendly, always greeting us whenever they saw us. The breakfast was nice and they were always bringing out fresh food. The pools were well maintained. Overall, great stay for what you pay.

Amazing hotel and outdoors area, very impressive. The room was comfortable and clean. The restaurant looked very nice, the food was okay. The spa treatment was incredible. It was a bit of miscommunication when it came to being picked up by the shuttle bus from the hotel, had to wait 1,5 hours. I would have expected more from a hotel of this class.

Poor experience
Our stay was not good at all, when we arrived in our room we were shocked to see that the room was soo outdated for a 4 star hotel. There was ants in our room which kept coming on daily even after the cleaner, bless him, tried to get rid of them for me. The next day we had a gecko in our room. Not to mention the continuous any highway running across the ceiling. It was not a comfortable stay we avoided being in our room and in the hotel as it was just ants everywhere and soo outdated.

Elegant rooms in an expansive compound
Lovely, elegant room, with a bath/shower, which I appreciated. One stepped out to a small childrens' pool which seemed never to be used. There were 6 pools in all, in the midst of verdant tropical vegetation, and exotic paraphernalia. At times it felt like one was staying in an abandoned film set. Think Howard Hughes.

Jungle Oasis
Great stay! Was at the mansion in the one bedroom pool villa for two weeks during an Acroyoga teacher training. Was gorgeous setting, cool shala training spaces, so many pools and just felt like this amazing oasis of tranquility. The spa was great. Had an amazing deep tissue massage after my 36 hours of flying from Texas. I would definitely stay again !

A very big resort, beautiful. I was staying alone for 1 night and a group of male workers unlocked the door to my room. It was an accident and they probably thought it was unoccupied but still unacceptable and there is not other lock on the inside of the room.

The hotel must have been incredible in its hay day!! We had a family room which was great, very clean. We had one large bedroom with a king bed and the second bedroom with 2 single beds. Big bathroom which was great, but had a shower that didn’t work and a leak in the roof. The bathroom did have a large bath shower combo so we used that. The grounds were massive, definitely in need of some TLC but still beautiful and tropical. The 6 pools were great to have. We used their free shuttle service to get to the main shopping area of Ubud and back to hotel. We would definitely stay here again!

Very worn, but still magical
Give it a few days, and it will grow on you. It is very worn and not in a good shape. It for sure had its prime, but now it is more magical with a sense of ‘jungle history’. Prices are vary fair, so all in all this is great value. We would be happy to visit again. If you are a yoga person, here is as we understood also training of instructors. Ps: stay away from Ubud center.
