Stay elsewhere
The location is the only great thing about this. It has so much potential. We arrived before 8 pm and had to check in at the bar next door. In the morning reception was not friendly. Room was dirty and old. You can here everything in your room and in hall. A coffee or tea would be nice. We will not stay again. Such a shame to let such a historic building decay.

Was a good place to stay right in the square, walkable to all shopping and the beach. Bathroom was a little outdated and bed a bit hard but all manageable and did not make the experience unpleasant. Would stay again because of location and great price.

Great location
It was fine for the price. Front desk staff not great. I booked it specifically for the location which is great, and for the price which is good for what you get.

I booked through Expedia and that seemed to be a problem. The check in desk was closed so I was told to go to the bar. I went to the bar and they sent me back to the check in desk because they didn't have a record of my reservation. I had to wait for someone to show up at the desk. I was clearly an inconvenience. There is also no elevator so if you can't carry your bags up one or two flights of stairs, this is not the place for you. There is a bar/ restaurant on site. I was surprised that the noise coming from the bar did not disturb me, even through I was directly above it. (I did not eat there so I can't comment on it.) Goderich claims that HM The Late Queen once said it was the most beautiful town in Canada. I must confess, I don't agree with Her Majesty.

Staff were wonderful.
Rooms and hallways need a good cleaning. Air quality in rooms was poor, plug in air fresheners are toxic, and windows don't open. Carpets need vacuuming and steam cleaning. Beds were very comfortable.

It was older and carpets were dirty. The walls were paper thin and the bar attached to the hotel had music so loud that even after 12 midnight the music felt like they were inside my room. The slope on the floor was 6-8 inches grade across the room. As my husband put it, you definitely could not play marbles there. His way of saying this floor was sagging and the room had a musty smell. Goderich is beautiful but I would not go back to this hotel.

Really dated, somewhere between 1980’s to mid 1990’s. Although it is clean it is disappointing. One hotel site shows updated rooms but we obviously didn’t get one of those. Love that there is a Pub, Paddy O’Neils on the main floor. We were at the Bedford Hotel on a Friday night and there was live music. Food is good and drinks are reasonably priced.

The hotel was very run down. The stairs were unsafe and it looked like everything had water damage. Bathroom in room was gross
