1 night stay
The location was absolutely stunning, however the service left something to be desired. The check-in process was incredibly slow and when we asked a question about the restaurant the girl at reception was unable to answer. It then took almost half an hour to get assistance to take bags to the cabin. The dinner on site was phenomenal! The drain in the shower needed to be unclogged, with the bath tub filling up during the shower. The final difficulty was applying our two room dining credit, we had charged the drinks to just one room assuming they could apply both credits and checkout and were unable to do so. For such a beautiful location and good reputation we were expecting a higher level of service to match. The staff seemed very green and a lack of confidence and knowledge. i do look forward to coming back, it's overall a great place to go.

10/10 Exceptional

What a gem!
I love this place! I saw some mixed reviews, but still decided to go for it. It was wintertime and beautiful. The food is good, a little pricey. I would like to see more bar menu options (sandwiches, fun apps) or rotate them. Also understand there is a main lodge for dining and relaxing and then the lodging is in cabin like separate structures with 4 in each (2 on top, 2 on bottom). You may have to walk a bit to dine depending where you are located. That didn’t bother me but it may for some. The rooms could use some attention but they are nice enough and a fireplace in each one! They provided what you need. I say go for it. I think it’s more of a relaxed environment than Fairmont Lake Louise but also I got a great deal. If your room price is similar to Lake Louise you may want to go that route. Nothing much around the Lodge, in the town of Field, need to go to Lake Louise or Banff for grocery or other things to do. If you are a nature, outdoor person you would be content at Emerald Lake to hike and hang out. Wi-Fi is only in the lodge. So go there to unplug. Once again, lived it!

6/10 Good

Nothing special, sadly.
The property looks tired and in need of much work - the bottom of the blinds need straightening, the duvets were very lumpy (no filling in some parts), the shower curtain was way too long for the bathtub (which leaves little room to stand in the tub) and there's an unpleasant smell coming from the sink-hole. (we needed to plug it up before going to bed). The toilet wouldn't stop flushing (my husband had to turn off the water) and the washroom sink doesn't drain well.

Fantastic Lake front location overlooking the mountains. Everything was good but was disappointed as to how the property upkeep was not what you would expect from a property like this. Very dated and run down but very clean and the service was awesome
